A total of 13,718 candidates, including 2,081 women, took the written examination for the posts of Grade II Constable, Jail Warder and Fireman at nine centres here on Sunday.
Inspector General of Police Sunil Kumar Singh had camped here to supervise the conduct of examination. Superintendent of Police Vijayendra S. Bidari, Additional Superintendent of Police P. Mahendran and Deputy Superintendents of Police supervised the conduct of the examination, held between 10 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. The police administration ensured that power supply to the examination centres was not disrupted. While arrangements had been made to videograph the examination, press photographers were denied entry into the examination hall to take photographs of the candidates writing the test.
